Botox Treatment

BOTOX HISTORY

Botulinum toxin, commonly referred to as botox, is a toxic substance that was used to treat neurological diseases and muscular dystonia in the 1990s. Using botulinum toxin for medicinal purposes, a group of doctors at Carruthers accidentally discovered its "side effect" of smoothing wrinkles.

mechanism of action

Botulinum toxin acts on the principle of temporary muscle paralysis, which causes wrinkles on the skin. This occurs through the inhibition of a neurotransmitter at synapses on the neuromuscular plate.

THE ANTIDEPRESSANT EFFECT OF BOTOX

Studies have shown that chemical denervation can reduce the negative emotional feedback caused by permafrost and forehead ironing. This, in turn, improves your emotional state. Studies have confirmed the effect of botulinum toxin on reducing the symptoms of chronic depression. (Sattler, G. botulinum toxin in aesthetic medicine, 2017.)

In addition, the simple awareness of smooth skin and a beautiful appearance leads to a significant improvement in mood and, therefore, additionally acts as an antidepressant and increases self-confidence. This is, of course, if the depression was caused by a malaise related to one's own appearance.

TIME TO SAVE BOTOX

The effect of botulinum toxin persists for about 3 mcy. This toxin is a protein, so the body can produce antibodies to it if it is used too often. The minimum period after which the procedure can be repeated so that the body is not "immunized" is 2 FEU.

BOTOX: PROS AND CONS

We all love the effect of a flattened forehead, the absence of crow's feet, the flattening of a rabbit's nose, the narrowing of the nose wings, or the narrowing of the lower jaw to make it more triangular, i.e. feminine in shape. For this reason, most ladies who come to the office first ask for botox. Effects quickly-within a week you see the first effects, and by 2-3 weeks we have the full effect, customers love when their creases and wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes are smoothed out.

Unfortunately, if we only use Botox on this area for many years, the skin may become thinner, and blood vessels and veins may begin to show through. This is because the muscle on which the skin rests is paralyzed, and therefore there is a decrease in the blood supply to the skin, and therefore the transport of nutrients to the skin is impaired.

This is why I recommend that my clients use botox alternately with mesotherapy or tissue stimulators that I give to the area where botulinum toxin has been or will be injected. In this way, we replenish the nutrients that the skin lacks, thicken and strengthen the skin. In some cases, if the skin is too thin or flabby, I recommend starting a series of treatments by nourishing and thickening the skin (see my article on mesotherapy), and only later you can consider using botulinum toxin.
